My quest of finding a profitable writing website was a journey full of trials and errors. It was also costly and time consuming, to the point of wanting to give up. Having over came that hurdle, I am delighted to share my findings with you who are seeking that quest for success as a publisher/writer. I am also enjoying the many benefits of using a particular affiliate ad program that blends in with your site, and pay well.
In my research, I was able to identify two key network programs that produced high success and profitability when used on your blog, websites and lens building. Those two programs are Chitika and Squidoo.
Chitika Ad Network
Chitika ad is one of the most popular pay-per-click advertising programs. Founded in May 2003 and launches its beta version of the contextual ad program in November 2003. The name Chitika pronounced as CHiH-tih-ka which means speed. It is an advertising net work for publishers, advertisers and media buyer. The co-founders are Venkat kolluri and Alden DoRosano. The main head quarter is located in Westborough MA. USA. (See figure 1) with the with box displaying some of Chitika Premium ads.

In recent time Chitika has change their process by introducing three types of Domain Status Key for publishers such as gold, silver and bronze (Click book in figure 2 to order book on Chitika and other advertising network program). Gold means that publisher will benefit from a higher cost-per-click rate where as silver the second highest and bronze the lowest. With the introduction of “Chitika/Selected Ads”, you will notice a significantly increase revenue because of ad display on your site when there is a higher chance to receive a click on the ad.

If the majority of your traffic comes from search engine, USA, Canada and UK, then Chitika publisher program will be ideal for your websites and blog.
Squidoo Writing platform
Sqiudoo is a writing platform where publisher write as many articles or they are passionate about. The articles are call lenses. The benefits derived from writing these lenses are:-
- The opportunity to write about your favourite topics
- If you enjoy working at home or unemployed you get the opportunity to earn an income from the tier 1-3 ranking which I will explain below.
- Promote your website and blog,
- Raise funds for your chosen charity.
Income is generated from ad links already set in your lens page. (Click on figure 3 to get Squidoo lens building ebook for and great tips and tricks ). Note the encircle highlight ads links from Google Adsense, Chitika and infolinks in-text ads. The tier ranking will determine your payout income.

Tier 1 lens ranking is @ 2000, the amount of income payout for that lens is $ 32.29
Tier 2 lens ranking is @ 2001 to 10,000, the amount of income payout for that lens is $ 5.49
Tier 3 lens ranking is @ 10,001 to 85,000, the amount of income payout for that lens is $ 0.28
Also there are Amazon and Ebay modules that can be used on your lenses. A commission of 50% will be paid to you if sales are generated from your lenses. Both commission and Tier1-3 will be compiled and payout. Payment are made two months in arrears. (See figure 4 for a visual lens ranking example)
